TradeOS is designed so a working owner can stand it up between calls, not after-hours. Most folks are quoting their first job within 30 minutes of signing up. Here's the order of operations we recommend.
1. Create your account
Head to /signup and enter your business email. We send a six-digit code to verify — no password to remember. You'll be dropped into a quick onboarding wizard that creates your organization, adds you as the owner, and sets your time zone.
2. Set up your company profile
Open Settings → Company and add the basics:
- Business name and trading name (the one customers see on quotes)
- Logo (PNG or SVG, ideally square)
- Phone number, address, and license number for your state
- Primary brand color — this drives the accent on quotes, invoices, and proposal pages
That's it. You can come back later for things like default tax rates and email signatures, but the four items above are what shows up on every customer-facing document.
3. Import or add customers
If your list lives in a spreadsheet, save it as CSV and use Customers → Import → CSV— we'll auto-map the columns and let you fix any that look off before committing. QuickBooks Online import is on the roadmap and not available yet.
Don't have a list yet? Click + New customer and just type one in. It takes about 15 seconds per record.
4. Send your first quote
- Open a customer and click + New quote.
- Add line items by hand, or tap the camera icon and snap a photo of the work area — our AI will draft an itemized quote you can review and edit.
- Set a deposit (optional), then hit send — TradeOS delivers by SMS and email when those contacts are on file.
- The customer gets a branded link they can open on any phone.
5. What to do next
- Invite your techs from Team → Invite — they get a mobile-only role by default
- Turn on Stripe Connect under Settings → Payments so accepted quotes pull a deposit instantly
